Brew guide
Dark roast coffee, benefits from faster, more robust methods like moka pot or aeroPress, and contradictory, cold brew.
This blend is made to suit a Moka Pot Stove top brewing method. Although it i produces an espresso like brew, it's not suitable for espresso machines as the extraction can be too slow due to the finer grind and supplementary ingredients.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Before you use the Bialetti Moka pot for the first time, please follow the instructions provided with the pot for cleaning and preparing.
- Pour fresh water into the bottom chamber up to the bottom of the safety valve.
- Insert the funnel filter and add 1 - 2 coffee scoops of your Mindful Brew Mushroom Coffee. Do not add more than 2 scoops (15g) or tamp (press) the coffee or you risk blocking it. Make sure theres no coffee grinds on the rim or screw threads.
- Screw the top and bottom chambers together tightly, using a towel if the base is hot from pre-heated water.
- Place on the stove over low-medium heat. If using gas, ensure the flame does not burn the handle, if you have an induction hob you will likely need an adaptor plate.
- Leave the lid open to monitor; as coffee starts flowing, reduce heat to the lowest setting.
- When the pot makes a gurgling sound and is mostly full, remove it from the heat immediately to avoid burning.
- Stir the coffee in the top chamber before pouring to ensure a consistent flavour.
